Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and music composer Anu Malik spoke to Dainik Bhaskar about the play ‘Woh Subah Hum Se Hi Aayegi’, which is going to be staged soon in Mumbai. This play is a story of change, hope and the inner strength of man. Mahesh Bhatt is presenting it. The play has been written by Dinesh Gautam and is being directed by Tariq Hameed. Its lyrics are written by IPS officer Qaiser Khalid and music is given by Anu Malik. Imran Zahid and Namita Sachdeva will be seen acting on stage. While talking to Dainik Bhaskar, Mahesh Bhatt said that today people have many options of mobile, streaming and digital content, but the power of theater is still different. He said, “In theatre, you feel the breath of an artist. The experience you get there cannot be found on any screen. We appear to be connected to the world, but are becoming cut off from within. In such times, theater connects man to man.” Talking about the basic idea of the play, Mahesh Bhatt said that real change does not come from outside, but from within. He said, “Until you awaken the light within you, you will continue to walk on borrowed light. Sometimes it is the worst times that bring you closer to your true strength.” Referring to the struggles of his life, Bhatt said that the difficult times in his career and personal life changed him and many memorable stories emerged from them. He said, “If after watching this play, the audience feels that if the character in the story can do it, then we too can do it, then that will be its biggest success.” Regarding the music of the play, Anu Malik said that he was emotionally attached to this project from the beginning. Anu Malik said, “The title of this play was so powerful that I immediately connected with it. When Imran Zahid narrated the story and sent the lyrics, I composed the tune immediately.” On the difference between music for theater and films, he said, “It is more difficult to make music for theatre, because everything happens in real time. What the audience feels at that moment is what goes home with them.” On her relationship with Mahesh Bhatt, Anu Malik said, “Mahesh Bhatt is not just a director for me. He always trusted me. Whenever I hear his name, a tune starts forming in my mind. That’s his magic.” The play ‘Woh Subah Hum Se Hi Aayegi’ talks about hope, confidence and inner light. Through this the team wants to convey the message that change starts with ourselves and not with anyone else.
