Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Paris late on Wednesday night at around 2 pm (Indian time). He left at 12 midnight after attending the two-day G7 summit held in Evian city of France.
People of Indian origin welcomed PM Modi outside the hotel in Paris. Modi shook hands with people and also caressed children. The PM will attend the Vivatech 2026 event on Thursday evening. French President Emmanuel Macron will also be present with him.
A day earlier, Modi attended the 52nd G7 Summit held in Evian city of France. He had an 18-minute bilateral conversation with US President Donald Trump. PM Modi and Trump met warmly.
Trump has promised that if India is ever attacked during Modi’s tenure, America will stand together to help. I will have to think if there is any other leader in India other than Modi.

During bilateral talks, PM Modi and President Trump were seen holding each other’s hands.
Vivatech is Europe’s biggest technical conference.
Vivatech is Europe’s largest technology conference, where new industries, technology companies, investors and experts from around the world showcase new technologies and innovations.
They mainly discuss Artificial Intelligence (AI), Startups and Entrepreneurship, Digital Technology, Cyber Security, Green Technology, Robotics, emerging technologies of the future.
The National Pavilion of India has also been set up here, where the country’s startups, innovations and technological achievements are being showcased.
Actually, today is the last day of PM Modi’s 6-day visit to France and Slovakia. Modi was in Nice city of France from 13-14 June. After this, stayed in Slovakia from 14 to 16. Returned from there and attended the G7 summit in Evian.
Trump said in G7 summit – I am not like Modi
June 17 was the second day of the 52nd G7 Summit in Evian city of France. Bilateral discussions took place between PM Modi and US President Donald Trump. In this, Trump said- As long as I am the President, Modi’s good friend will always be present in the White House.
Trump praised PM Modi and said – As long as Modi is the leader, India will play a big role in every field. Modi is a calm and tremendous leader, but I am not like Modi.
In the meeting, PM Modi said that the issue of death of Indian sailors in the Strait of Hormuz was raised. He said that the safety of Indians at sea is important. It is expected that the security of Indians will be ensured in the deal with Iran.

PM Modi raised the issue of death of Indian sailors in the Strait of Hormuz at the G7 Summit on both June 16 and June 17. He had said in the outreach session on Tuesday, the first day of the summit, that many Indians have lost their lives in this important sea route and it is the responsibility of all countries to ensure the safety of seafarers connecting global trade.
PM’s meeting and discussion with many world leaders at G7 Summit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met many prominent global leaders during the G7 Summit. These included US President Donald Trump, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. Trade, investment, energy, technology, global security and regional issues were discussed in the meetings with these leaders.
June 14-16: Modi visits Slovakia, receives highest civilian honor
President Peter Pellegrini honored PM Modi with Slovakia’s highest civilian honour.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on a tour of Slovakia from 14 to 16 June. On 15 June he was awarded Slovakia’s highest civilian honour, the Order of the White Double Cross (First Class). He was honored in the capital Bratislava.
On receiving the honour, PM Modi wrote in his post – He is grateful to the government and people of Slovakia for this. This honor belongs to the 140 crore people of India and we dedicate it to the strong and lasting friendship between India and Slovakia.
Earlier, a bilateral defense and trade deal was signed after talks between Modi and Slovakian PM Robert Fico. After meeting Slovakia’s PM Robert Fico at the Bratislava Palace, Modi had also invited Fico to visit India.
India and Slovakia decided to upgrade bilateral relations to the level of ‘Comprehensive Partnership’. Signed 11 agreements between the two countries to increase cooperation in migration, digital technology, defence, education and other areas.
June 13 to 14: PM Modi’s visit to France, first phase
On June 14, a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron was held in Nice city of France. There were 13 major agreements between the two countries.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, defense, trade, technology, space and education were discussed in the meeting. The two countries launched a high-level System and Economic Security Dialogue to double mutual trade in the next 5 years.
Earlier, both the leaders inaugurated the ‘Bharat Innovates 2026’ program, in which startups and venture capital funds from India, France and other countries participated.
After the program, President Macron took Prime Minister Modi to visit Villa Carillos located near Nice. It is one of the famous historical and cultural heritages of France. Macron took a selfie with the PM here.
India guest nation in G7, PM attends for the 7th time
India is not a member of the G7, but is often called a special invitee nation (guest nation) due to its leading economy and important global role. Usually the Prime Minister of India gets an invitation to the summit.
East Prime Minister Manmohan Singh participated in the G7 (earlier G8) summits five times between 2005 and 2013. PM Modi was first invited to the G7 summit held in Biarritz, France in 2019.
The US was to host in 2020, but then canceled the summit. After this, PM Modi virtually participated in the conference hosted by Britain in 2021.
Apart from this, Modi attended the G7 summit held in Germany in 2022, Japan in 2023, Italy in 2024 and Canada in 2025.
What is G7, which countries are in it?
G7 i.e. ‘Group of Seven’, is a group of 7 countries of the world, which are called ‘modern economy’ countries of the world. These include America, France, Britain, Japan, Italy, Canada and Germany.
It debuted in 1975 as the G6. It became the G7 after Canada joined in 1976. In 1998, Russia was included and renamed G8, but in 2014 it was expelled from the group after Russia’s annexation of Ukraine’s Crimea region. After this it again started being called G7.
