Prime Minister Modi reached Vienna, the capital of Austria, late on Tuesday night after his two-day visit to Russia. He was welcomed with a guard of honour at the airport. After this, Prime Minister Modi reached Hotel Ritz-Carlton from the airport.

This visit of the Prime Minister is for two days. Modi is the first Prime Minister to visit Austria after 41 years. Before this, Indira Gandhi had visited Austria in 1983.

Modi will attend a state dinner with Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer tonight. After this, there will be a discussion between the two on trade. He will also meet Austrian President Alexander Van der Belle.

On reaching the hotel, Prime Minister Modi was welcomed by playing the tune of Vande Mataram.

PM Modi arrived at Hotel Ritz-Carlton in Vienna, Austria, where he was welcomed by the Indian diaspora.

After reaching the airport, Prime Minister Modi was given a guard of honour.

Startup bridge will gain momentum
Prime Minister Modi’s visit will further deepen the relations between the two countries. At the same time, the India-Austria Startup Bridge is expected to gain more momentum. The Startup Bridge was launched by the two countries in February this year in New Delhi during the visit of Austria’s Labor and Economy Minister Martin Kocher to India. Its objective is to share knowledge and cooperation regarding startups between India and Austria.

Russia confers highest civilian honour on Modi
Russia on Tuesday, July 9, awarded PM Narendra Modi the country’s highest honor ‘Order of St. Andrew the Apostle’ in Moscow. President Vladimir Putin himself honored him. This honor is given to the best performing civilian or military personnel.

Earlier, Modi also participated in the summit talks with President Putin on the second day of his two-day visit. He said, “As a friend, I have always said that there is no path to peace from the battlefield. Peace is not possible amidst bombs, guns and bullets. Dialogue is necessary for a solution.”

In response to this statement of the PM, Putin said, ‘We are grateful to you for the solution you are trying to find for the Ukraine crisis.’ During the talks, the PM also raised the issue of terrorism and said that terrorism remains a threat to every country.

Prime Minister Modi is the first Indian and the fourth non-Russian person to receive this honor. This honor to be given to him was announced in 2019.

Modi stayed in Russia for 26 hours, spent 8 hours with Putin
Modi spent 26 hours in Russia on his two-day visit. During this, he spent 7-8 hours with Putin. The two leaders held four formal and informal meetings. Apart from having a private dinner, they also had lunch together. The Russian President took Modi for a ride in a golf cart.
