फ्रांस में इतने हजार में लॉन्च हुआ ये कॉइल, लोग बोले- ये तो कछुआ छाप है…!

These days a new product of a French luxury brand is much discussed on social media. The reason is not its fragrance, but its look. Seeing this expensive product, people on the internet are saying – Hey, this looks like Indian tortoise print mosquito incense stick!

In fact, France India’s famous luxury fragrance brand Diptyque has launched a new product in its summer collection, which the company is calling ‘Scented Spiral’ i.e. aromatic coil-shaped incense sticks. But Indian social media users are seeing a glimpse of a mosquito repellent coil in it.

People were shocked even after hearing the price
According to the brand’s website, the price of this scented spiral is 68 dollars (about Rs 6,500). At the same time, if the customer wants to buy the special stand that comes with it, then he will have to spend 183 dollars (about 17,500 rupees). This means that the ‘luxury version’ of the thing that Indians remember the mosquito coil costing 40-50 rupees, is being sold for thousands of rupees.

After all, what is this Scented Spiral?
The company says that citronella and lemongrass based fragrance has been used in these spirals. These are specially designed to be used in open environments so that the surrounding environment feels fragrant and relaxing.

A total of six spirals are available in the pack, which are placed in three pairs. A gold finished decorative holder is also provided with them.

Comparison started on social media
As soon as pictures of the product went viral on social media, Indian users directly compared it to the “tortoise print” mosquito incense stick. One user wrote humorously, we have been using it for years. The only difference is that the Mortine coil repels mosquitoes and it does aromatherapy.

Another user wrote – Luxury brands no longer have new ideas left. Never thought that he would be inspired by our mosquito coils. Another user commented that in India this thing has always been used to ward off mosquitoes.

Flood of memes and funny reactions
Many people shared pictures of Tortoise Print and other mosquito repellent coil brands on social media and asked what is the big difference between them and this luxury product.

Some users even jokingly said that if the same thing had been launched by an Indian company, it would probably have been considered an ordinary mosquito coil, but when a foreign luxury brand introduced it, it became a ‘premium outdoor fragrance experience’.

Why is this story going viral?
In fact, the most interesting thing that people are finding in this whole matter is that the look of a thing which was considered very common in India for decades, now seems to be similar to an expensive luxury product. This is the reason why people on the internet are having fun calling it ‘Luxury Tortoise Print’ and are continuously making memes on it.

At present, more than the aromatic spiral, its price and its comparison with Indian mosquito coils are being discussed more. People on social media say that this ‘luxury coil’ worth Rs 6,500 definitely reminded them of the old tortoise print of their house.
