The Norway men’s football unit took the internet by storm with their bespoke team picture ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 slated to be held in North America as the Norwegian players struck a viking pose paying homage to their traditions.
Norway are pooled alongside two-time World Cup winners France, AFCON winners Senegal and Iraq in Group I in the quadrennial spectacle to be held in USA, Canada and Mexico.
Norway will open their WC campaign with their opener against Iran at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough on the 17th of June, before clashing again the African champions Senegal on the 23rd at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. Norway close out their group assignments with there fixture against France at the Gillette stadium.
Early celebrations are in full swing as the USA, Canada and Mexico prepare to welcome the World Cup back to North America. At the heart of the spectacle is the official match ball, Trionda, created as a tribute to the three host nations. Trionda, meaning ‘three waves’, stands out as one of the most distinctive and innovative designs yet. It marks the first World Cup jointly hosted by three countries, an ambitious project featuring a 48-team tournament and more than 100 matches.
The ball’s red, green and blue colour scheme reflects the three hosts, while its four-panel construction with fluid geometry visually echoes the wave motif suggested by its name. These panels meet to form a triangle at the centre of the ball, symbolising the historic union of the three nations. The design also incorporates specific iconographies for each country: an eagle for Mexico, a maple leaf for Canada, and a star for the United States. Gold detailing honours the glittering World Cup trophy.
Trionda is packed with advanced performance features. Its four-panel structure uses deliberately deep seams to create a surface that ensures optimal in-flight stability, generating consistent, evenly distributed drag as the ball travels through the air. Embossed icons, visible only at close range, enhance grip when striking or dribbling, especially in wet or humid conditions.
