After US President Donald Trump’s expletive remark on Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister on Wednesday downplayed the row, calling them “tactical disagreements” and said they always “find a way” to move forward.
According to the Axios report, which cited an unidentified US official, Trump said to Netanyahu in a call on Monday: “You’re f****** crazy. You’d be in prison if it weren’t for me. I’m saving your a**. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this.”
Later, in an interview published in New York Post, the US President confirmed the substance of the remarks, saying tensions were high over Lebanon. “I did,” he said. Check for Live Updates
“I wouldn’t say angry. I was a little bit perturbed at his constant fighting with Lebanon,” he added. “At some point I said, ‘Bibi, we’ve got to stop this. We’ve got to stop it.’”

On Wednesday, in an interview with US’s CNBC, AFP reported that Netanyahu downplayed the dispute, saying he and Trump were on the same page when it came to tackling Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.
The Israeli PM said that he and Trump had always “found a way” to move forward. “We have so many agreements, we agree on the main things,” he said.
“You have these tactical disagreements. We always find a way to work them out, and we do so as great friends. We can disagree in the morning, and by the afternoon, we have common action,” he said.
On the question of whether the relation with Trump has changed, Netanyahu said: “No. This has been a great relationship, because he’s been the greatest friend that Israel has ever had in the White House.”
“He respects me. I respect him. We always find a way to work out our differences,” he added.
