US President Donald Trump has been assessed to be in “excellent health” following a recent medical check-up, though a former emergency room doctor has suggested one detail in the report, his increased weight, needs further scrutiny.
The 79-year-old leader underwent an extensive examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella concluded that Trump remains “fully fit” to carry out the duties of president.
Trump Now Weighs 108kg
According to the report, Trump’s weight has risen to 238 pounds (108 kilograms), up 14 pounds since his last medical assessment.
Reacting to the findings, former ER doctor and practicing internist Dr. Stuart Fischer told the Daily Mail that the publicly released information does not provide enough detail for an outside observer to fully evaluate Trump’s health. While he downplayed broader concerns about the President’s condition, Fischer said the weight gain could merit closer attention.
He noted that unexplained increases in weight can sometimes be linked to circulation-related disorders or the early stages of congestive heart failure. Fischer described one possible explanation as “a malignant form of circulatory problem” and cautioned that such conditions can be “potentially very serious.”
The physician also suggested that Trump should receive direct advice about any weight-related health risks, warning that he may be “playing with fire” if those concerns are ignored.
Despite those observations, Fischer acknowledged there is no evidence in the medical report indicating that Trump suffers from congestive heart failure or another significant heart condition.
Perfect Score On Cognitive Test
The examination found no major abnormalities involving Trump’s heart, lungs or neurological health. The US President reportedly underwent multiple screenings, including cardiac imaging, a CT scan and cancer checks, overseen by 22 medical specialists.
Barbabella wrote that Trump’s “cognitive and physical performance are excellent.” The report also noted improvement in his chronic venous insufficiency and recorded a perfect score of 30 out of 30 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a widely used cognitive screening test.
