Jacqueline Fernandes’ troubles have increased in the alleged extortion of Rs 200 crore and the money laundering case related to it. Delhi’s Patiala House Court said that there is enough material to frame charges. The court has filed Prevention of Money Laundering Act against Sukesh Chandrashekhar, Leena Maria Paul, Jacqueline Fernandes and other accused. (Order has been given to frame charges in PMLA) case.
According to ANI, Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Prashant Sharma said that based on the material on record, prima facie strong suspicion is created against all the accused. Therefore, charges should be framed against him under Section 3 of PMLA, the punishment for which is prescribed in Section 4.

The court has listed the case on June 3 for formal signing of charges. All the accused have been directed to appear in the court personally at 2 pm.
This case is related to the alleged extortion of Rs 200 crore from businessman Aditi Singh. Delhi Police had registered a case on his complaint. After this, ED started investigating money laundering and filed a charge sheet.
Sukesh Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act against Chandrashekhar and Leena Maria Paul in the same case. (An order has also been given to frame charges under MCOCA. Although Jacqueline Fernandes is not an accused in the original extortion case, she was made an accused in the money laundering case after her name appeared in the ED investigation.

Earlier, Delhi High Court had rejected Jacqueline’s petition, in which she had demanded to cancel the supplementary charge sheet of ED. After taking cognizance of the charge sheet, the trial court had issued summons to him. Later, when he appeared in the court, he got bail.
At present Sukesh Chandrashekhar is in judicial custody. Leena Maria Paul has got bail in the money laundering case, but the Delhi High Court has rejected her bail plea in the MCOCA case. The bail petitions of other accused are pending in the High Court.
Recently, Jacqueline Fernandes had withdrawn her application to become an approver in this case. Now the formal process on the allegations will be completed in the court on June 3.
