Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Poland and Ukraine on a 3-day visit.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi used Pakistan’s airspace while returning from Poland. Pakistani media house Dawn has given this information quoting an official of the Civil Aviation Authority there.
According to the report, Prime Minister Modi was in Pakistan’s airspace for 46 minutes. His plane reached Amritsar via Lahore and Islamabad. According to Geo News, his plane entered Pakistan’s airspace at 10:15 am and stayed there till 11:01 am.
According to sources, during this period Pakistan’s airspace was open for commercial use of Indian aircraft. India has not said anything on this matter yet.
The Prime Minister’s aircraft does not require special permission. However, in some cases, the Prime Minister’s aircraft has to give a special signal.

Pakistan’s media house has claimed that Modi had also used Pakistan’s airspace while going to America.
After Balakot strike, Pakistan had closed its airspace for India
India carried out an airstrike in Balakot, Pakistan on 26 February 2019. After this, Pakistan completely closed its airspace for Indian aircraft.
In March, Pakistan partially opened the airspace but kept it restricted for Indian flights. Dawn also claimed that in 2019, India had sought permission to use Pakistan’s airspace for PM Modi’s plane.
This was rejected by Pakistan due to the Kashmir dispute. Prime Minister Modi’s plane needed Pakistan’s airspace to go to Germany.
However, two years later, Pakistan allowed the Indian Prime Minister’s non-stop flight to pass through its airspace to reach the US.
Modi’s critics will corner him: Pakistani official
Talking to Dawn, the Pakistani official said that as soon as Modi arrives in India, his critics may start cornering him for using our airspace.
Meanwhile, Dawn has considered Modi’s use of Pakistan’s airspace as a good sign for the relations between the two countries.

Demand to improve relations with India in Pakistan
Since the formation of the new government in Pakistan, there has been a demand to improve relations with India. In March, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said during a meeting in London that Pakistan’s business community wants to restore trade relations with India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated Shahbaz Sharif on becoming the Prime Minister. When Modi became the Prime Minister for the third time, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his brother Nawaz Sharif sent him congratulations.
Nawaz had said, “My heartiest congratulations to Modi ji on becoming the Prime Minister for the third time. Your party’s success in the elections shows people’s trust in your leadership.” Nawaz Sharif further wrote, “Let us replace hatred with hope and use this opportunity to change the fate of two billion (200 crore) people of South Asia.”
