An earthquake of 5.9 magnitude occurred in Kagoshima region of Japan on Wednesday. The strong tremors spread panic in many areas, although no tsunami warning has been issued at present.
According to Japanese media, the earthquake occurred near Okinawa Main Island. Japan Meteorological Agency made it clear that there is no danger of tsunami.
After the earthquake, buildings shook in many areas and people came out of their homes. However, initial reports have not indicated any major damage or death.
Japan is among the most earthquake-affected countries in the world, because it is located in the Ring of Fire region of the Pacific Ocean.
The quake follows another strong earthquake off the east coast of Honshu island four days earlier. Train services were affected by that earthquake and emergency alert was issued in many areas. However, there was no danger of tsunami at that time and there was no news of any major damage.
