Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu addressed a public meeting in Srikakulam district on Saturday.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced on Saturday that Rs 30,000 will be given to the family on the birth of the third child and Rs 40,000 on the birth of the fourth child in the state.
Naidu was addressing a public meeting in Srikakulam district. During this, he said that earlier he was in favor of population control, but now times have changed. Now there is a need to increase the birth rate. Its complete information will be released within a month.
Earlier, Andhra government has also considered the proposal of giving an incentive amount of Rs 25 thousand on the birth of the second child. The Chief Minister had given this information in the Assembly on March 5.

Naidu said – do not consider children as a burden
Naidu said that children should not be seen as a burden but as an asset of the country. To keep the population of any society stable, an average birth rate of 2.1 children per woman is necessary. He claimed that the declining population and aging population in many countries has had a negative impact on the economy.
Naidu had appealed to women to have more children
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu also appealed to women to produce more children in April 2025. While announcing, he had said that government women employees will get 26 weeks i.e. 6 months maternity leave for every child, irrespective of the number of children.
Till then this leave was limited only to the first two children. If there were more than two children, 12 weeks leave was available. Speaking at the Women’s Day event, Naidu had said that this decision has been taken to maintain population balance and help women strike a balance between job and family.
Naidu said that like many countries of the world, in India too the number of youth is decreasing and the elderly population is increasing. For this reason they are emphasizing on long-term population policy.
Naidu’s statement is being linked to delimitation
Naidu’s statement is being linked to Lok Sabha delimitation. In fact, the BJP government at the Center has already placed the bill regarding delimitation in Parliament. Southern states fear that if the delimitation that has been pending for 46 years is done on the basis of population, then their seats in the Lok Sabha will decrease compared to Hindi speaking states.
However this bill could not be passed. Also, Home Minister Amit Shah, while speaking in Parliament, had explained that delimitation will not harm any state. He told how the Lok Sabha seats will be from 543 to 850.
Shah had told- where did the figure of 850 come from?
Shah said, ‘Let me explain. Suppose there are 100 seats and 33% reservation is to be given for women. If the total seats are increased by 50%, it becomes 150. And when 33% reservation of 150 is applied, it equates to approximately 100 seats.’
‘At present there are 543 members in the Lok Sabha. After delimitation the seats will be increased by 50% and the total number will become 816. Out of these, 33% seats will be reserved for women. 850 is a round figure, the actual number would be 816.’
Andhra seats will increase from 25 to 28
The total Lok Sabha seats of the five southern states will increase from 129 to 195. His percentage will increase from 23.76 to 23.87. Thus, with the proposed 50% seat increase, every state in South India will get more seats.
Tamil Nadu will get 20, Kerala 10, Telangana 9 and Andhra Pradesh 13 additional seats. Maharashtra, the state with the second highest number of MPs in the Lok Sabha after Uttar Pradesh, will get 24 additional seats.
