US President Donald Trump has claimed to have killed Abu Bilal al-Minuki, the second-highest commander of the terrorist organization ISIS. He said that the US Army, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army, carried out this operation in Africa.
He said that this operation was carried out with great planning and in a very difficult manner. He was hiding when he was targeted. According to him, this terrorist was one of the most active terrorists in the world and he was being monitored for a long time to eliminate him.
Trump also said that his killing has caused major damage to ISIS’s funding network and command system. However, complete information about where and when the operation took place has not been revealed yet.

No picture of terrorist Minuki
The biggest leader of ISIS is its Caliph. At present, the head of this organization is considered to be Abu Hafs Al Hashimi Al Qureshi. Whereas number-2 Al Minuqi was considered to be the brain behind the organization and funding of Islamic State (ISIS). According to US officials, he was planning attacks on the US and its interests abroad.
Many other names of Minaki were reported, including Abubakar Mainok and Abor Mainok. No official photo of Al Minuki has been publicly revealed. He was considered a ‘shadow figure’ i.e. a commander working behind the scenes.
America had declared him a global terrorist 3 years ago
Al Minuki was born in 1982 in Borno State, Nigeria. This area borders Cameroon, Chad and Niger. In June 2023, the Biden government declared Minucci as a ‘Specially Designated Global Terrorist’. When America considers a person or organization a terrorist dangerous to the world, it puts it in this list.
Any person or organization that gets this status, many strict restrictions are imposed on it. Like all his assets in America are frozen, no American citizen or company can do any transaction with him and efforts are made to completely isolate him economically and financially.
Last month, ISIS claimed responsibility for an attack in Nigeria’s Adamawa state that killed at least 29 people. The attack took place in Guayaku area of Gombi Local Government Area, where armed assailants targeted locals.
America has attacked ISIS targets in Nigeria
Trump did not say where in Africa the attack took place, but it is believed that the operation was carried out in Nigeria. This is not the first time that Trump has taken action against ISIS in Nigeria.
Earlier, he had carried out attacks there in December and had said that terrorists were especially targeting Christians. Trump had threatened at that time that if the terrorists did not stop killing Christians, they would have to pay a heavy price. However, at that time the Nigerian government had said that the situation is not so simple and both Christians and Muslims are victims of violence there.
2 terrorist organizations active in Nigeria
Nigeria has been facing a major problem of extremist violence for many years, especially in the north and north-eastern areas of the country. Two big terrorist organizations have been most active here. Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province.
Boko Haram originated in the early 2000s, but turned violent after 2009. The aim of this organization is to oppose western education and lifestyle. It carried out several major attacks on schools, villages, markets and security forces.
Later, there was a split within Boko Haram and a large faction of it separated and became Islamic State West Africa Province, which got the support of ISIS. This organization has made a strong hold in the Lake Chad Basin and Sahel region and extends to countries like Niger, Chad and Mali.
Nigerian states like Borno, Yobe and Adamawa have been most affected by the activities of these organizations. Thousands of people have been killed here and lakhs of people have been forced to flee their homes.
