Bhagirath approached the High Court after a case was registered against him amid allegations linked to an alleged honey trap and extortion attempt.

Bandi Sanjay Kumar has termed the controversy a ‘political hit job’.
The Telangana High Court on Thursday reserved orders on the interim protection plea filed by Bandi Sai Bhagirath, son of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar, in connection with his anticipatory bail petition in the alleged honey trap and extortion case.
The court heard arguments on the interim relief petition and posted the matter for orders on Friday. The anticipatory bail plea is likely to come up for hearing next week.
Bhagirath approached the High Court after a case was registered against him amid allegations linked to an alleged honey trap and extortion attempt.
Earlier, he had filed a police complaint in Karimnagar alleging that he was being targeted through a conspiracy involving blackmail and extortion. According to a statement issued by the Union Minister’s PRO, a woman allegedly tried to trap him by using her daughter and later demanded a large amount of money.
The statement said, “A woman allegedly attempted to lure Bandi Sanjay’s son into a honey trap by using her daughter as bait. After allegedly executing the plan, she is accused of demanding a huge sum of money and resorting to blackmail.”
Responding to the allegations, Bandi Sanjay Kumar termed the controversy a “political hit job” intended to damage his reputation. He accused political rivals of dragging family members into political battles.
“In view of the recent baseless allegations, I wish to state that I have always respected the law and abided by the Constitution throughout my public life. I have lived without any stain and continue to place complete faith in the judiciary,” he said in a post on X.
“I am confident that the judiciary will determine what is right and what is wrong. Time will answer every allegation and expose every conspiracy. Satyameva Jayate,” he added.
Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed State DGP CV Anand to begin an immediate investigation into the case registered at Pet Basheerabad police station.
