Smriti’s childhood friend has filed a case against Palash under the Atrocities Act. In his complaint, Mane alleged that Palash took money from him, used caste based abuses and behaved insultingly.

A case has been registered against Palash in Sangli. This complaint was filed several months after the marriage of Mandhana and Palash got canceled in December 2025. Police have registered a case against Palash on the basis of the complaint and investigation is underway. According to information received by India Today, 34-year-old Sangli resident Mane is active in social and political fields. He claimed that Palash had taken Rs 25 lakh from him as investment for a film named ‘Nazariya’. According to the complaint, Palash had also offered Mane a role in the film. It was decided that the investment amount and profits would be returned after the release of the film. But Mane says that the film was never made.
In the complaint, Mane said that he repeatedly asked for the money back, but Palash kept postponing it for days and months. Later he flatly refused to return the money and said that he did not have any outstanding money. After several attempts, Mane went to Sangli police and lodged a complaint.
Mane further alleged that when he met Palash to ask for money, the singer used casteist abuses and insulted his caste. According to the complaint, the incident took place on November 22, 2025 at a farmhouse in Sangli. Police said that on the complaint of Vigyan Prakash Mane (34, resident of Sangli), a case has been registered against Palash Muchhal (30, resident of Lokhandwala, Andheri, Mumbai) on charges of caste insult and obscene language.
Deputy SP Sandeep Bhagwat confirmed that the complaint has been officially registered and investigation is underway. The case is on the outstanding investment of Rs 25 lakh related to ‘Nazariya’ and allegations of caste insult during the meeting in Sangli.
