US President Donald Trump on Thursday claimed that Iran’s naval and air capabilities have been largely destroyed, asserting that “every Iranian ship is right now underwater” amid the ongoing conflict.
Speaking about the situation, Trump said Iran’s military infrastructure had taken heavy hits. He claimed that the country’s navy, air force and anti-aircraft systems had been “knocked out,” while most of its weapons factories had been destroyed.
Claims Of Extensive Damage
Trump said Iran’s military assets have been significantly degraded, adding that only a small portion of its missile production capacity remains intact. He warned that the remaining facilities could quickly rebuild capabilities if a deal is not reached.
“We’re in pretty good shape,” Trump said, describing the US position as strong following the operations.
Focus On Nuclear Issue
On the possibility of talks, Trump said progress had been made but stressed that any agreement would hinge on Iran giving up its nuclear ambitions.
“They’ve come a long way — the question is whether or not they’re going to go far enough. There will never be a deal unless they agree that there will be no nuclear weapons,” he said.
‘No Nuclear Weapon’ Assurance
Trump reiterated that Iran would not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons, saying both the US and the international community are aligned on this point.
“Iran isn’t going to have a nuclear weapon. They know it. Everybody else does too,” he added.
The remarks come amid heightened tensions and ongoing negotiations, with Washington maintaining pressure on Tehran while leaving the door open for a diplomatic resolution.
