During the assembly election campaign in West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadside stop in Jhargram and eating Jhalmuri became a topic of discussion. PM Modi talked to shopkeeper Vikram Shaw, asked his name and whereabouts, inquired about his family situation and also praised Jhalmuri. Vikram Shaw became emotional and nervous due to this sudden meeting with the Prime Minister. Later he realized that he missed the opportunity to ask for autograph from PM Modi. Vikram says that this thought did not occur to him at that time and he regretted it after the PM left.
According to IANS, Vikram Shaw told that he is from Gaya in Bihar and due to poverty he had to leave studies after ninth standard. Daily earning is around Rs 1000 to 1200. PM Modi asked him the price of his Jhalmuri and also insisted on paying the money. This incident emerged as a human moment amid the election campaign, in which a dialogue took place between the Prime Minister and a common shopkeeper, but a memory remained incomplete.
