Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma recently said about Aditya Dhar’s film Dhurandhar 2 that the character of Dawood Ibrahim was not shown properly in it. Since the release of the film Dhurandhar 2, Ram Gopal Varma has been praising its craft and storytelling. Recently, in a conversation with writer Hussain Zaidi on his YouTube channel, he expressed his opinion about the film in detail. Verma said that many aspects of the film impressed him, but he did not agree with the character of Dawood Ibrahim. He said, ‘I disagree with just one thing. I think the way Dawood Ibrahim has been portrayed is not correct. They may have their sources, but in my view it has been misrepresented. Let us tell you that in the film, Dawood has been shown as ‘Bade Saheb’, who is the mastermind running terrorist operations from Pakistan to India. Dawood is no longer active: Ram Gopal Varma made it clear that he does not claim to be the final authority on this subject, but according to him, Dawood has been inactive for a long time. Verma said that as per his understanding, Dawood had distanced himself from criminal activities about 20 years ago. He also admitted that no one can confirm the complete truth on this issue. He said, “I can’t prove it wrong and even the director can’t prove it right.”
