A case of bank robbery in broad daylight has come to light in Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh. Here on Friday afternoon, 5 armed miscreants entered the Bank of Maharashtra located in Baidhan. They ran away after looting cash, gold and silver and goods worth Rs 30 to 35 lakh.

The incident occurred around 1 pm on Friday afternoon. Eyewitness Ashish Pandey told that when he was getting work done in the bank with his wife, suddenly two armed criminals entered inside. They immediately took the bank employees hostage.
A few minutes later, three more armed companions arrived inside. Took over the entire bank. The miscreants pointed guns at the customers and employees present there, causing hue and cry in the bank premises.

Manager attacked with butt
According to SP Manish Khatri, the miscreants asked for the cash keys and information about the cash from the bank manager. When the manager refused, he was beaten severely.
Hit him on the head with the butt of the gun. They created a ruckus inside the bank for about 15 minutes and finally ran away with a bag full of cash and jewellery.

Police cordoned off the entire district
As soon as the news of the incident was received, Singrauli SP Manish Khatri himself reached the spot with his team. All the exit points of the city have been sealed. CCTV footage of the bank and surrounding roads is being scrutinized.
SP said that about Rs 14.50 lakh had been kept from yesterday. The rest was today’s collection till that time. Apart from this there was gold and silver. At present, it is difficult to give an accurate estimate of the total amount of goods taken.

There was no guard, one fired
According to the SP, there was no guard here at the time of the incident. The miscreants have also opened fire. Statements of eyewitnesses and bank employees will be taken. Investigation revealed that one person was wearing a helmet. The faces of the remaining four were open.
CCTV footage surfaced
CCTV footage of a shop located in front of the bank has surfaced, in which three accused are seen leaving the bank. In the footage, a robber first comes out from inside the bank. He waits on a bike parked in front. After that, two people from inside come out of the bank running with a bag in their hands.
The three accused escape towards Baidhan city in the same bike. This CCTV is installed in a shop about 50 feet away on the other side of the road, right in front of the bank, in which the robbers were captured running away.
