The dream of securing a good education for a child has led many parents to trust new and emerging private schools. However, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) in Maharashtra has identified 10 schools operating without proper government recognition, terming them unauthorised or illegal.

Authorities have warned parents to verify credentials before enrolling their children, as these institutions are reportedly functioning without mandatory approvals.

List Of Schools Declared Unauthorized

PCMC has flagged the following schools across different localities:

  • Tathawade: Blooming Birds School
  • Chinchwadnagar: Little Star English Medium School
  • Kasarwadi: Mount Everest English School, DMK International School
  • Kalewadi: Mane English Medium School
  • Charholi / Charholi Fata: Nurture International, Mindworld International, Catalyst International School
  • Wakad: HEMS International School
  • Moshi: Galaxy International School

According to officials, these schools do not possess recognition from the Maharashtra education department. Despite repeated notices issued by the civic body, several of these institutions are still reportedly continuing admissions.

Authorities have made it clear that these schools are not listed in official government records.

Risks For Students And Parents

Officials have cautioned that admission in such schools may create serious academic and administrative issues for students in the future.

If enrolled, children may face difficulties transferring to other schools, as certificates and marksheets issued by unauthorized institutions may not be considered valid. Students may also be ineligible for government schemes and scholarships.

There is also a risk that such schools could be sealed at any time, potentially disrupting students’ academic year.

Education Department Issues Warning

Education department officer Sangeeta Bangar has warned that strict legal action will be taken against the management of these schools. She has also urged parents not to be misled by infrastructure or appearances and to verify official recognition before admission.

Parents have been advised to check for a valid Certificate of Recognition and the U-DISE code before paying any fees.

What Parents Should Do

Officials have advised parents facing doubts about a school’s status to visit the education department at the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal office for verification.

Authorities have stressed the importance of due diligence to ensure that children’s education and parents’ investment are not affected by enrolling in unauthorized institutions.
