A massive fire broke out after an explosion in a chemical tanker on National Highway-52 in Karnataka’s Uttara Kannada district on Thursday. The incident took place near Kanchinabagilu area of Ankola, where the tanker burst into flames soon after the explosion.
Due to the blast, the fire spread rapidly and dense smoke started rising from the spot, due to which relief and rescue teams faced difficulties in reaching the spot. Officials fear that the tanker driver may be missing.
Officials say that remaining information regarding the incident will be revealed only after preliminary investigation.

Huge fire on the beach in Mandrem, Goa, fire team reached the spot
On Thursday, a massive fire broke out in three cottages near a beach property in Mandrem, Goa. As soon as the information was received, fire brigade and emergency teams immediately reached the spot and started trying to control the fire.
Pernem fire station in-charge Namdev Pawar said that fire tenders were rushed to the spot and efforts are on to control the situation. At present, the cause of the fire has not been known and there has been no information about any casualty.

Naxal violence is over in the country: MHA claims – no district is affected now
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has informed the states that India is no longer affected by Naxal violence and no district in the country falls in this category. According to the official letter sent to nine states on April 8, no district in the country is now classified as Naxal violence affected.
Earlier on March 30, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had also said in Parliament that India is now free from Maoist influence. This claim of the government is being seen as a big success on the internal security front in the country.
Pakistan supported terrorist module, 4 hand grenades and weapons recovered in Punjab
Punjab Police on Thursday arrested a terrorist module linked to Pakistan’s intelligence agency. In this action, one accused has been arrested and arms and ammunition including four hand grenades have been recovered from his possession.
Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said that the Counter Intelligence Wing conducted a joint operation with the State Special Operation Unit based in Amritsar and Mohali. During this period, two foreign pistols and cartridges were also recovered.
