Andhra Pradesh software engineer Singireddy Sai Sriharikrishna died in a waterfall accident in California, officials work to repatriate his body to India.

A software professional from Andhra Pradesh died in an accident during a visit to waterfall in California with friends, police said on Sunday.
The deceased, identified as Singireddy Sai Sriharikrishna, was originally from Piridi village in Vizianagaram district. He was working in a software company in the United States.
According to India Today, the incident took place when Singireddy was celebrating his 26th birthday with his friends. While entering the water, he was reportedly caught in a whirlpool by a strong current and drowned.
“The techie died in an accidental incident during a leisure visit to a waterfall in California,” the official told PTI.
The man is survived by his parents, Singireddy Srinivasa Rao and Ramadevi.
Following the incident, TDP MLA from Bobbili constituency R V S K K Rangarao spoke to Andhra Pradesh NRI Empowerment Minister Kondapalli Srinivas, seeking steps to bring the mortal remains back to India at the earliest, according to PTI.
The official previously quoted confirmed that efforts are underway to repatriate the boy.
