Amidst the Iran crisis, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s X post has come into controversy. After “Draft – Message from Pakistani PM” appeared in the edit history of the post, many claims are being made about it on social media.

Shahbaz Sharif, in his post, appealed to Trump to extend the deadline regarding Iran by two weeks. He said that this will give diplomacy an opportunity to move forward. Also appealed to Iran to open Hormuz.

Viral screenshots of the post showed an older version in which DRAFT was written. This line became the cause of controversy and questions were raised whether this message was a pre-prepared draft.

Some users described it as a directive from the White House, while some said that Trump is controlling Pakistan’s policy. At the same time, Pakistan is presenting itself as a mediator between America and Iran.

Sharif had said in his message that diplomatic efforts are progressing rapidly. A permanent solution can come from a ceasefire.
