Tiger Woods admitted to being distracted by his phone right before the Florida crash, and now faces a DUI charge, despite no alcohol being found.

Here’s a little reminder for Tiger Woods: Maybe listen when Mom tells you to stay off the phone.
The golf superstar admitted to authorities that he was distracted by his phone moments before a car crash in Florida last Friday, according to a police report released Tuesday.
The 15-time major champion told authorities he was “looking down at his cell phone and changing the radio station” when his SUV struck a trailer being towed by a pickup truck on Jupiter Island, near his home.

Crash Details Emerge
The collision caused Woods’ vehicle to roll onto its side, forcing him to exit through the passenger door. Remarkably, neither Woods nor the other driver sustained injuries.
However, the aftermath quickly escalated.
Woods was arrested and later charged with suspicion of misdemeanour DUI with property damage, as well as refusing to submit to a lawful test.
While a breathalyser test showed no alcohol in his system, Woods declined to undergo urine testing. Later, authorities also reported finding two hydrocodone pills — an opioid painkiller — in his possession.
Police Report Raises Concerns
According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies observed Woods “sweating profusely,” with “lethargic and slow” movements.
His eyes were described as “bloodshot and glassy,” and he was seen “limping and stumbling to the right.”
When questioned about his physical condition, Woods cited his extensive medical history: “He’s had seven back surgeries and over 20 operations on his leg… his ankle seizes while walking.”
Uncertain Road Ahead
Despite those challenges, Woods has remained determined. He made a comeback at the Masters Tournament in 2022, finishing 47th, and had recently hinted at another return after featuring in a TGL indoor event.
But this latest incident clouds that path. After failing sobriety tests at the scene, authorities deemed him “impaired and unable to safely operate a vehicle.”
Woods has since posted bond and is scheduled to appear for arraignment on April 23 in Stuart, Florida.
