The Haryana government has made it mandatory for private schools to submit Form-VI, a declaration detailing their fee structure, for the 2026–27 academic session. As per the order issued by the Directorate of Secondary Education, schools will not be allowed to increase fees unless the form is submitted to the department. Institutions that fail to submit the document could also face restrictions, including the blocking of their MIS accounts.
To simplify the process and improve transparency, authorities have categorised school fees into two groups: mandatory and optional. Mandatory charges include registration, admission fees for Classes 1, 6, 9 and 11, and board examination fees. Optional fees cover additional services such as transport, hostel and mess facilities, which parents may choose depending on their needs. Officials clarified that any charge not declared in Form-VI cannot be collected from parents.
Senior officials said the move is aimed at curbing arbitrary fee hikes and strengthening accountability among private schools. By making the submission digital and compulsory, the department intends to ensure that complete fee details are officially recorded and can be easily verified. Schools must list every component of their fee structure in advance, leaving little room for undisclosed or additional charges during the academic year.
The department has also directed schools to display their submitted Form-VI publicly on notice boards and upload it on their official websites for easy access by parents.
Authorities believe the decision will offer relief to families who often face unexpected financial burdens due to sudden fee hike. At the same time, it is expected to push private schools to comply strictly with regulations and maintain transparency in their financial practices. With submission deadlines approaching, many schools across Haryana have begun rushing to complete the online filing process.
