Congress on Saturday released the second list of 23 seats for the Assam Assembly elections. With this, the party has so far declared its candidates for 65 seats in the 126-seat Assam Assembly.
The Congress has also left 15 seats for alliance partners and is leading the opposition alliance, which includes the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Assam Jatiya Parishad.
Tickets have been given again to three seats in the second list of the party. Former MP Abdul Khaliq has been made the candidate from Mandia seat. Earlier on March 3, Congress had released the first list of 42 seats, in which state president Gaurav Gogoi was fielded from Jorhat seat.
