On the criticism of Adani Group, Managing Director of Adani Ports and SEZ (Special Economic Zone) Limited, Karan Adani has said that instead of blaming anyone else in this matter, we should look inward ourselves. He said that we have not been able to tell our story properly to the market and society. We need to work more in this direction. However, he also said that one of our philosophy is to keep doing your work with your head down and ignore the noises coming from around you.
Karan Adani organized at Taj Hotel, Delhi India Today Conclave Were attending. Here he spoke openly on Adani Group’s project, West Asia crisis and rhetoric regarding the group.
When he was asked in the program that although Adani Group is a leading business house of India, yet it faces sharp criticism. What is the reason for this?
Answering this question, Karan Adani said, “Instead of blaming someone else, we would like to look at ourselves. What things have we not done well? When we look at ourselves, we find that we have not told our story, our vision properly to the people, to the market and on public platforms, so the other narrative becomes dominant. So we have to try harder to tell our story. This is the first thing.”
Speaking openly on the criticism of Adani Group, Karan Adani, Managing Director of Adani Ports and SEZ Limited, further said that the second thing is that Our philosophy is to keep your head down and do your work, don’t worry about the noise around you. He further said smilingly that but after a certain limit you cannot ignore it because then it also becomes a problem. This strategy works only up to one level.
They said that The basic thing is that we must keep telling our story. What are we doing, how are we doing, delivering projects on time, preparing new projects for the country. And after all all these things are the property of the country. This is not a matter of Adani Group acquiring property. In reality they are the property of the country.
Should think about energy alternatives
On the crisis in West Asia and energy crisis in India, he said that what we import has been affected. Be it crude oil, LPG or other gas. He said that we should think about alternative things in energy, which we import, do we have the option of crude oil, do we have the option of gas? We should think about alternatives to these things and try to reduce their import. Karan Adani said that India has many resources from coal to its own crude.
