An attempt was made to fire on National Conference President and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah in Jammu late on Wednesday evening. According to officials, Abdullah had reached a wedding ceremony in Greater Kailash area. Jammu and Kashmir Deputy CM Surinder Chaudhary was also present with him.
CCTV of the incident has also surfaced. It can be seen that when Farooq Abdullah was going from a wedding, the attacker Kamal Singh Jamwal came from behind and tried to shoot at Abdullah.
However, the security personnel present with him saved him and caught the attacker. Police have started investigating the matter and the reasons behind the attack are being ascertained.
