Mayank Kumar, a resident of Malviya Nagar in Jaipur, Rajasthan, has secured 97.23 percentile in the recently declared JEE Mains results. Mayank’s father, Jagdish Prasad Koli, runs a small bangle shop in Jaipur. Despite the family’s poor financial condition, he never allowed any obstacles to hinder Mayank’s studies. His success has demonstrated that strong determination can overcome poverty.

Mayank’s journey was challenging. His initial attempt at the exam yielded only around 67 percentile, which was quite disappointing for him. Instead of giving up, he worked on his shortcomings. On his cousin’s advice, Mayank moved to Kota and enrolled in Motion Coaching Institute. Adapting to a new environment, living away from home, and handling the pressure of studies was tough, but he gradually disciplined himself and redirected his preparation.

Mayank recalls many moments of disappointment due to low test scores during his studies in Kota. However, his father, Jagdish Prasad, was his biggest strength, always encouraging him with the same words over the phone: “Keep working hard, you will definitely get the results.” Mayank attributes his success to the disciplined environment of the coaching institute, regular tests, and the guidance of his teachers. The hard work in Kota and his father’s sacrifices have brought pride to the entire family.

Mayank’s success has brought immense joy to his home in Jaipur and the bangle shop in Malviya Nagar, reported Local18. His mother, a homemaker, has always motivated him to excel. He also has a younger sister who is thrilled with his achievement. The dream that began in the small bangle shop in Jaipur is now progressing towards becoming an engineer.

Mayank is now preparing for the JEE Advanced 2026 exam, set to be conducted on May 17, aiming to get into one of the country’s prestigious IITs. Candidates must rank within the top 2,50,000 in JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 or 2 to be eligible for the IIT admission test.
