Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a tour of Kerala and Tamil Nadu today. PM will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth about Rs 10,800 crore in Ernakulam, Kerala and about Rs 5,650 crore in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu.
On reaching Kerala, PM will attend the golden jubilee celebrations of All Kerala Dhivar Sabha. After that, in another program at 1:30 pm, different developments will be handed over to the public. These projects are related to energy, highways, rural infrastructure, railways and other sectors. After this, at around 2:15 pm, Modi will address the NDA rally to be held in Ernakulam, Kerala.
After this the PM will go to Tamil Nadu. Here at around 5:45 pm, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects worth about Rs 5,650 crore in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. On this occasion, the Prime Minister will also address a public meeting.
PM said- NDA will fulfill the expectations of the youth of Kerala
Before his visit, the Prime Minister said in a post on social media platform
He wrote that NDA’s good governance agenda is higher than the loot and misgovernance of both LDF and UDF. NDA will focus on development politics and fulfill the expectations of the youth of Kerala.
Approval to give international status to Madurai Airport
Before the PM’s visit, the Union Cabinet on Tuesday approved declaring Madurai Airport as an international airport. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that this upgrade reflects the expectations of the people of the region and will significantly transform Madurai’s development prospects.
Vaishnav said that the three largest cities of Tamil Nadu are Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai. People want an international airport here. This decision will be a major change in the development of Madurai and Tamil Nadu as a whole.
Modi said- DMK is scared of NDA’s popularity
PM Modi said in a post on Twitter that the DMK is clearly upset with the increasing popularity of the NDA across the state. He wrote that the people of Tamil Nadu have seen the misgovernance and unfulfilled promises of DMK. That is why they are associating with NDA’s agenda of hope and progress.
