Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a post-budget webinar today (Monday) on March 9 at 10:15 am via video conferencing. The theme of this webinar has been kept as ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas – Fulfilling the aspirations of the people’.
The objective of this program is to prepare a concrete strategy in collaboration with government departments, industry experts and stakeholders to implement the announcements made in the budget.
Breakout sessions will focus on different sectors
The webinar will feature several breakout sessions. In these, areas like education and skill development, health and AYUSH, tourism and hospitality will be discussed in detail. The government wants that the benefits of the budget provisions should reach the general public as soon as possible.
Education-to-employment pathway will be discussed
In the webinar, there will be discussion on making the journey from education to employment easier. The aim of the government is to create such a system so that students can get job opportunities directly after completing their studies. For this, emphasis will be laid on bridging the gap between skills training and industry needs.
Content creator labs will be built for AVGC sector
The webinar will discuss the creation of ‘Content Creator Labs’ to promote the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) sector. To establish India as a big player in this global market, the government is planning to provide technical assistance and platform to new creators.
Health Sector: Regional Medical Hub and AYUSH institutions will expand
In the field of health, the government’s focus is on creating regional medical hubs, so that modern treatment facilities can be available in areas other than big cities. Apart from this, there will also be a focus on training of allied health professionals and caregivers. Experts’ advice will be taken on setting up new institutions to promote AYUSH system.
Tourism: Buddhist circuit and heritage tourism will be promoted in North-East.

This webinar will serve as a common platform between the government, industry and experts. Its main objective is to derive practical suggestions for effectively implementing the budget policies, so that the inclusive development of the country can be accelerated.
The Finance Minister presented the budget on 1 February
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget on Sunday, February 1. No major announcement was made for the common man in this. However, new things like ease in filing taxes, railway project and 3 new Ayurvedic AIIMS have been said.
There was no direct election announcement in the budget speech. Sitharaman arrived in the Lok Sabha wearing the famous Kanjeevaram saree of Tamil Nadu, but did not make any announcements that would have a direct impact on the elections of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry to be held this year.
In the first budget after Operation Sindoor, the Finance Minister talked about geo-politics and challenges and increased the country’s defense budget from ₹6.81 lakh crore to ₹7.85 lakh crore. That means the total defense budget has increased by 15.2%.
The special thing about the defense budget is that this time ₹ 2.19 lakh crore will be spent on arms purchase and modernization of the army as compared to last year’s ₹ 1.80 lakh crore. This is a straight 22% increase in capital spending.
8 biggest announcements of the budget…
i. No change in income tax slab. Gave more time of 3 months to file revised return. This means that now instead of 31st December, you can file revised return by 31st March.
ii. Import duty removed on 17 cancer medicines. Currently 5% fee was charged. Medicines for 7 rare diseases like haemophilia, sickle cell and muscular dystrophy are also duty free.
iii. Defense budget increased from ₹6.81 lakh crore to ₹7.85 lakh crore, an increase of 15.2%. ₹2.19 lakh crore will be spent on arms procurement and modernization this year compared to ₹1.80 lakh crore last year, an increase of 22%.
iv. Announcement of 7 high speed rail corridors. These include Mumbai-Pune, Pune-Hyderabad, Hyderabad-Bengaluru, Hyderabad-Chennai, Chennai-Bengaluru, Delhi-Varanasi and Varanasi-Siliguri.
v. Announcement of opening of 3 Ayurvedic AIIMS. To increase medical tourism, 5 medical hubs will also be built.
vi. Announcement to spend ₹12.2 lakh crore for the development of Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities with population of more than 5 lakh.
vii. Content creator labs will be created in 15 thousand secondary schools and 500 colleges.
viii. Hostels for girls will be built in about 800 districts. A hostel will be built in every district.
