West Champaran: The situation of tension in the Middle East is at its peak after the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a missile attack. After this attack by America and Israel, Iran has also carried out large-scale missile and drone attacks on American bases located in Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. The most noteworthy thing is that in this attack, not only the local people but also the citizens of many other countries present there are losing their lives. There are some cases where even information about the people present there after the attack is not available. A similar case has come to light on March 2, in which some people have died and two people are missing after a drone attack on an oil tanker ship named Sky Light, which was stopped for repair work in the Gulf of Oman.

Captain Ashish was a resident of Bettiah.

Let us tell you that one of the people who are missing in this attack is Captain Ashish Kumar, resident of street number 02 of Shikshak Nagar, Bettiah in West Champaran district of Bihar. According to the information received from Ashish’s family members, he has been working in the Indian Merchant Navy for about 16 years. On 22 February 2026, he was given the role of Captain on Sky Light Oil Tanker Ship and deployed in the Gulf of Oman for ship repair work. Ashish’s younger brother Akash Kumar tells that 19 other people were present on the ship along with Ashish as captain.

Everything was normal till 28th February

Till Saturday, February 28, everything was normal and Ashish had even talked to his mother and wife through WhatsApp call, but on Sunday, when the call or message sent by his wife to Ashish was not answered till some time later, everyone got scared. Despite his best efforts, when he could not talk to Ashish, he planned to talk to Vikram Ghosh, the cook present on the ship. According to Akash, on Sunday he talked to the cook around 07 or 7:10 in the morning according to Oman time.

At the same time, during the conversation, the family members came to know that Captain Ashish’s ship ‘Sky Light IMO Number: 9330020’ has been badly damaged due to the drone attack, in which Captain Ashish along with two other crew members are missing. Ashish’s family members, who were badly frightened by Sarsoy’s words, immediately talked to the authorized member of Sky Light Group, Sumit Kumar and HOD Manoj Jha. He also confirmed the attack and said that Ashish and two other members (oil decker worker and chief engineer) were not found. Government should search for people missing from the ship

Ashish’s father Ashok Kumar says that on Monday morning he once again talked to the ship’s cook and got information about his son and two other missing people, but like Sunday, this time too Ashish and the Chief Engineer could not be found on the ship. Yes, this time the death of the oil decker has definitely been confirmed. Seeing such a serious situation, Ashish’s entire family is scared. He is worried that something might have happened to his son ‘Captain Ashish’ too. However, they are requesting the government to pay attention to this matter and collect information about the missing people.
