Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday said the BJP and its allies have secured a decisive mandate in the civic body elections across the state.
“Today, in Maharashtra, out of 29 civic polls, the BJP and its allies have won in 25 places,” Mr Fadnavis said.
Calling the results a strong endorsement of the party, he said:
“Maharashtra has shown full faith in the BJP.”
The Chief Minister dedicated the victory to party workers and credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“I dedicate this win to the workers of the BJP. This victory reflects the faith people have in Prime Minister Modi,” he said.
Mr Fadnavis added that the mandate would translate into inclusive governance.
“There will be development for all,” he said.
