SLAT (Symbiosis Law Admission Test) is an entrance exam conducted by Symbiosis International University (SIU) for admission to its law programs. It is a mandatory exam for candidates seeking admission to the BA LLB (Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Legislative Law) and BBA LLB (Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Legislative Law) programs at Symbiosis Law Schools across India.
SLAT tests candidates’ knowledge in areas such as English, logical reasoning, legal reasoning, general knowledge, and analytical reasoning. The exam is typically held once a year, and successful candidates are shortlisted for further rounds such as a personal interview (PI) and/or group discussion (GD), depending on the institution’s admission process.

Candidates will be shortlisted for PI based on their respective Entrance Test marks. The further admission process is conducted separately for each programme by each Institute. The cut-off for shortlisting is also calculated separately for each course. Based on their overall SLAT percentile, a candidate may get shortlisted for more than one programme. In such cases, the candidate is expected to participate in the PI for each programme separately, states the official notice.
