Haryana Police on Tuesday said that 67 songs promoting gang culture, mafia lifestyle and the glorification of weapons have been removed from digital platforms. The action was announced in a statement issued in Chandigarh on January 13.

The police said the songs encouraged violence and gun culture, which prompted authorities to act against them.

Haryana Director General of Police Ajay Singhal said the removal of the songs was part of a broader campaign. He added that strict action would continue against content that promotes violence and criminal behaviour.

“The action taken against 67 songs is part of a larger campaign, and further strict action will continue,” Singhal said.

The police did not disclose the names of the songs that were removed or blocked. Officials also did not specify the digital platforms from which the content was taken down.

Haryana Police said the drive aims to discourage the spread of content that glorifies crime and weapons, especially among young people.
