Fear of gang rape of trainee doctor
Dr. Suvarna Goswami, Additional Secretary of All India Government Doctors Association, on August 14, citing the postmortem report, said that this could not be rape but gangrape. He said that 151mg of semen was found from the private part of the trainee doctor. Such a large quantity cannot belong to a single person. There is every possibility that more than one person may be involved in the rape case.
On the other hand, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi gave a statement 5 days after the incident (on 14th August). He said- Instead of providing justice to the victim, efforts are being made to save the accused. This thing raises serious questions on the hospital and the local administration. The culprits should be given such a punishment that it becomes an example to stop such incidents in the society.
