साउथ सुपरस्टार शिवा राजकुमार ने बताया क्यों हिट हुई धुरंधर: ‘KGF, कांतारा को टक्कर देने आई फिल्म 45’, दो यूनिवर्स और भावनाओं की खास कहानी

Shiva Rajkumar and director Arjun Janya’s Kannada film ’45’ brings an emotional and deeply thought-provoking story on the big screen. After getting a great response in the South, now this film is being dubbed in Hindi and released for the North Belt audience.

Inspired by the personal loss suffered during Covid, Arjun Janya depicts the relationship between life and death through two parallel universes. Just a glimpse of the story connected Shiva Rajkumar with it, because this film shows the power of cinema that touches human emotions.

Elements like culture, emotions and patriotism have also been given important place in the film, just like in ‘Dhurandhar’, there was a deep connect with the audience due to patriotism. While talking to Dainik Bhaskar, the film’s hero Shiva Rajkumar also talked about the growing trend of South films.

How did the idea for the story of the film come about and why was it important for you to bring this story to the screen?

Arjun Janya- The story of this film is related to my own personal experience. My brother passed away during Covid. During those difficult times I listened to Garuda Purana, which gave me a new perspective to understand the relationship between life and death. From there came the idea of ​​connecting two parallel universes.

When I took this story to the film’s hero Anna, he liked it very much. He said that a film should be made on this story and it should be directed by me and not by anyone else.

Shiva Rajkumar- I liked the story very much after hearing just one line of it. In my childhood, I had read a poem – The child, after coming into the world, learned to laugh while crying, learned to die laughing, learned to live after dying, learned to endure to his heart’s content… According to me, cinema has tremendous power to show all these emotions.

Through this film we have tried to show how life should be lived. I was able to relate a lot to my character because even in my personal life, I am a stubborn, naughty and straightforward person.

The film is getting good response in South, what are your expectations from the Hindi audience?

Arjun Janya- This is a universal film and I am sure everyone will like it. Its screenplay has also been prepared differently. You will get to see three to four layers in a single story, which will force the audience to think.

Kannada industry has given great films like KGF, Kantara, 777 Charlie, due to which the expectations of the audience have increased a lot. Do you feel the pressure of this?

Shiva Rajkumar- Of course, the pressure is felt. But I believe that real happiness lies in this pressure. The audience always demands a unique and strong script. We can’t make films like Kantara or KGF every time. This film of ours is also a universal story, from which everyone will get a special message.

What is so special about South films that they often prove to be superhits?

Shiva Rajkumar- According to me, the two biggest strengths of our films are our culture and second is our emotions. Many times these two things are less visible in North’s films. If you watch movies like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Saath Saath Hain, all of them are based on emotions, and that is why they became superhits. Every human being is connected with emotions.

Like the movie Dhurandhar became a hit because patriotism was shown in it. Similarly, in the superhit films of Karnataka, there is either devotion to God or patriotism. It is very important to have emotions in a film to connect with the audience.
