It had taken such a long lead from Bikaner city alone that it had equalized the difference in all the five assembly seats.

When the budget problem arose, he himself met the Union Ministers in Delhi and got additional budget for Sursagar. Not only this, he had also given budget for this work from his MP quota. However, the entire credit for cleaning Sursagar went to the then Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.

Dharmendra was saddened when this poster got huge media coverage. He decided to come to Bikaner immediately. He came to Bikaner after two-four days and stayed in the Circuit House. Here he met all the workers and the public without any fanfare. Dharmendra had expressed pain to many journalists that such posters were put up for him.

During the Lok Sabha elections, BJP had made the then leader Manikchand Surana their election in-charge. In such a situation, Surana used to decide his daily schedule and used to get angry if it was not followed as per his schedule. Wherever Dharmendra went, he would say, ask “Netaji with the coat”. Actually, Surana used to wear coat all the time. Many times he and Surana would have disputes, but he used to give full respect to Surana. Apart from Surana, BJP leader Satyaprakash Acharya also accompanied him during his election campaign.

Full use of MP quota

Dharmendra had fully utilized his quota like a common MP. Whenever any society, organization or institution appealed to him for financial support, Dharmendra did not disappoint. Even today, boards in the name of Dharmendra are installed at many places in Bikaner, in which his MP quota was used. Usually, Dharmendra used to approve the quota amount on the recommendation of BJP leader Satyaprakash Acharya and his personal secretary Kamal Vyas.

Dharmendra had contested elections from Bikaner in the year 2004 but his fans have been there since the beginning. A young man built a temple in his name in Bikaner. The same young man later established his own establishment by the name of Dharmendra Studio. Apart from this, he also has fans in Amarsinghpura. Who celebrate Dharmendra’s birthday every year and visit his house.
