This clash took place at a time when the third round of peace talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan is to be held in Turkey on Thursday. The two sides signed a ceasefire in Qatar on October 19, but a second round of talks in Turkiye last week ended without any agreement. Today’s talks are also taking place under the mediation of Turkey and Qatar.

PAK said- If solution is not found in talks then we will respond with full force

ISI Chief Lieutenant General Asim Malik is leading the peace talks from Pakistan side, while Intelligence Chief Abdul Haq Wasiq, Deputy Home Minister Rahmatullah Najeeb and spokesperson Suhail Shaheen are participating from the Taliban side.

Pakistan has a clear stand that no terrorist activity against Afghanistan will be tolerated from its soil and it should stop giving shelter to TTP.

Turkey had said in the previous round that the ceasefire would continue and be monitored, violation of which would be punished. Pakistan Army spokesperson has warned that if talks do not resolve the problem, Pakistan reserves the right to take action and any attack will be responded to with full force.

The talks, which will last for two days, are expected to take steps to open the border and stop terrorism.

Pakistan had dropped bombs in Kabul

The conflict between Afghanistan and Pakistan began on October 9 when Islamabad attacked Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) positions in Kabul. Afghan people are blaming Pakistan for border dispute and airspace violation.

The root of the dispute between the two countries is the Durand Line, which was drawn between India and Afghanistan during the British era. It divides the traditional land of both the countries and the Pathans on both sides never accept it.

There was fatal firing between the two sides at at least seven places on the Durand Line. Both sides claimed heavy losses from each other. According to Reuters, Pakistan said it killed more than 200 Afghan Taliban and their allies, while Afghanistan claims it eliminated 58 Pakistani soldiers.
