The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has announced the recruitment of 8,477 non-teaching staff positions for Group C (clerk) and Group D (support staff). The recruitment process, which was initially set to begin on September 16, has now commenced. The selection process includes only a written exam and a skill test, with no interview required.

Those who have completed class 8 or 10, or hold a graduate degree, can apply for the recruitment drive. The last date to apply is December 3, 2025, and candidates can submit their application at westbengalssc.com. The application fee is Rs 400 for general, OBC, and EWS candidates and Rs 150 for SC, ST, and PH candidates, payable online.

Educational Qualification: For Group C positions, a 12th grade or graduate degree is needed, while Group D positions require an 8th or 10th grade degree.

Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 40 years old by December 3, 2025. Reserved categories are eligible for age relaxation: SC, ST candidates receive a 5-year relaxation, and OBC candidates receive a 3-year relaxation.

Step 5 – Save the PDF of the form and take a printout.

WBSSC Recruitment 2025: Selection Process

The selection process consists of a written exam, followed by a skill or practical test, and document verification. The written exam for Group C includes 60 questions: 15 on general knowledge, 15 on current affairs, 15 on general English, and 15 on arithmetic. For Group D, there are 45 questions: 15 on general knowledge, 15 on current affairs, and 15 on arithmetic. There is no negative marking in the exam.

WBSSC Recruitment 2025: Salary Details
