Automobile company Maruti Suzuki India has earned a total income of Rs 43,290 crore in the second quarter of the financial year 2025-26. This has increased by 11% compared to last year. In the same quarter last year, the company had earned Rs 38,972 crore.

If expenses like salaries, taxes, cost of raw materials are removed from the total earnings, then the company is left with Rs 3,349 crore as net profit (consolidated net profit). This is 8% more than the July-September quarter of 2025. Last year the company had made a profit of Rs 3,102 crore.

Revenue increased by 13% to ₹42,344 crore

In the second quarter, the company earned revenue of Rs 42,344 crore by selling products and services. It has increased by 13% on annual basis. In July-September 2025, the company had generated revenue of Rs 37,449 crore.

Vehicle sales increased by 1.7% in the second quarter

Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 5,50,874 vehicles in the second quarter. The company’s sales in the domestic market were down by 5.1% during this period, while exports were up by 42.2%. Due to this, the overall sales growth of the company was 1.7%. The company sold 4,40,387 vehicles in the domestic market, while exported 1,10,487 vehicles.

Maruti shares rose 46% in one year

Maruti Suzuki shares are trading 0.056% higher at Rs 16,215 today after the second quarter results. The company’s shares have given 32% returns in the last 6 months. At the same time, the company’s shares have increased by 45% since January 1 this year. The company’s shares have risen 46% in the last one year. The market cap of Maruti Suzuki is Rs 5.10 lakh crore.

Maruti Suzuki India was formed in 1982

Maruti Suzuki was established on 24 February 1981 as Maruti Industries Limited under the ownership of the Government of India. In 1982, the company formed a joint venture ‘Maruti Suzuki India Limited’ with Suzuki Corporation of Japan.

The first budget car for Indians was the Maruti 800 launched in 1983. At an ex-showroom price of Rs 47,500, the company had enabled a large section of the country to buy the car. Maruti Suzuki has sold about 3 crore vehicles in the country in the last 40 years.
