Bollywood actor Asrani died on Monday after a prolonged illness. He acted in more than 350 films in a career spanning more than five decades. At the same time, Akshay Kumar, who has worked with Asrani in films like Hera Pheri and Bhool Bhulaiyaa, is in depression after her death. Director Priyadarshan said this in an interview recently.
Actually, Priyadarshan told in an interview to News 18 that he has done most films with Asrani. He said, “I have done more films with him than even Rishi Da (Hrishikesh Mukherjee) has done. He started working with me from my second Hindi film ‘Gardish’ itself. I have been watching his films since my college days. He was never showy, but always made people laugh.”
Priyadarshan further said, “I can’t call him just a comedian. He was a great actor and performed brilliantly in different roles. In ‘Koshish’ he played the role of a villain. In ‘Abhiman’ he did a brilliant job against Amitabh Bachchan. He was a complete actor.”

Priyadarshan has worked with Asrani in many comedy films like Hera Pheri, Malamaal Weekly and Bhool Bhulaiyaa.
Priyadarshan told that Akshay Kumar called him twice. Akshay told Priyadarshan that he felt he was in depression, as he had been working with Asrani in two films for the last 40-45 days.
Priyadarshan also said that Asrani sir always used to give advice to Akshay. He also used to tell Rajpal about the mistakes of his life and taught him that he should not make the same mistakes.
Actually, before Asrani’s demise, the two films in which Akshay Kumar was working with him are Haiwaan and Bhoot Bangla. Both the films are being directed by Priyadarshan.
Earlier, Akshay Kumar and Asrani have worked together in many films. The two worked in films like Khatta Meetha (2010), Bhagam Bhaag (2006), Deewane Hue Pagal (2005), De Dana Dan (2009), Insaan (2005), Hera Pheri (2000), Welcome (2007), and Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007).
Had hugged him just a week ago- Akshay Kumar
After receiving the news of Asrani’s demise, Akshay had paid emotional tribute to him. she wrote-
Shocked and speechless after hearing the news of Asrani ji’s demise. Just a week ago we had met on the shooting of “Haivaan” and shared the warmest hug. He was a very sweet person, his comic timing was really amazing. I worked with him and learned a lot from him in many of my cult films, Hera Pheri, Bhagam Bhag, De Dana Dan, Welcome and now our unreleased Bhoot Bangla and Haiwaan. This is a huge loss for our industry. Asrani sir, you gave us millions of reasons to laugh, may your soul rest in peace.
