A youth from Karnal district of Haryana was shot dead in America. A retired soldier fired at the young man in a departmental store, killing him on the spot.

It is being told that after the firing, the accused soldier also shot himself. This incident happened near the Portland-Washington border of America. The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Pradeep, who was a resident of Hathlana village in Karnal.
According to the family, Pradeep had gone to America about one and a half years ago. It took him 8 months to reach there. He was working at a departmental store and had called at home three-four days ago and told that everything was going well.
He had said that he had got the job and would soon repay the loan. Pradeep was the only source of income for the family, as his father had already died.

- Retired soldier fired bullets: According to the family, a call was received from a friend of Pradeep on Saturday evening. He informed that Pradeep had been murdered. The friend told that a retired soldier living in America had come to the store. He suddenly started firing in the store for unknown reasons.
- 3 to 4 bullets hit Pradeep: According to Pradeep’s brother-in-law Ashish, Pradeep’s friend told that Pradeep had reached the store shortly before the firing. That retired soldier, disguised as a Sardar, also fired at Pradeep, due to which 3 to 4 bullets hit him. Due to this, Pradeep died on the spot. After this the accused placed a pistol on his temple and shot himself. The reason for the firing has not been known yet.
- Pradeep was the only brother of 8 sisters: As soon as the family got information about the accident, there was mourning here. Pradeep was the only brother of 8 sisters. He was married about 10 years ago, but had no children till now. The family says that this news, which came just before the festival of Diwali, is no less than a shock for them.
The family said – help should be given in bringing the dead body to India. The family has appealed to the administration and government to bring Pradeep’s body to India as soon as possible, so that the last rites can be performed in the village.
Villager Satpal Pahalwan told that the family is already in debt of Rs 42 lakh and the financial condition of the house is very bad. The responsibility of the entire family was on Pradeep, but with his departure everything has fallen apart. The sisters are in bad condition and the entire village is in mourning.
