UP Police DGP Rajeev Krishna, in a special conversation with NDTV, highlighted the ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards crime in UP. He told how the police is working to create fear in the minds of criminals and a sense of security among citizens. Referring to the recent encounters, the DGP described the police’s retaliatory action as a result of self-defense. He also talked about ‘Mission Shakti’ and preparations for the upcoming festivals, including police strategies to maintain law and order. The DGP said that the police is a professional organization and is working strongly in catching the criminals as well as punishing them, as a result of which crime control has improved in UP.
