US President Donald Trump has expressed disappointment with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. He described the ongoing war in Ukraine as terrible and said that it is the biggest incident in terms of deaths after the Second World War.
“I’m very disappointed because Putin and I had a very good relationship,” Trump said during a White House lunch with Argentinian President Javier Milli. Maybe still is. I don’t know why he is continuing this war. This war has been very bad for them too. They are trapped in a war that has been going on for four years, which should have ended in a week.
Trump further said that Putin has lost more than 10 lakh soldiers. The comments came days before he meets Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, where US military and financial aid will be discussed.
At the same time, the US administration is considering sending American Tomahawk long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine. Speaking to reporters, Trump said, ‘Frankly, I may have to talk to Russia about Tomahawks. “If the Ukraine conflict wasn’t resolved, I was going to send them.”
During this meal, Trump also announced $20 billion in economic aid to Argentina. He praised his previous diplomacy, which mentioned reducing India-Pakistan tensions. He said, ‘I resolved many conflicts. There was a big risk of death in India-Pakistan, but we did a good job. Putin must resolve his war.
