The matter came into limelight when a video of Maulana went viral on social media, in which he allegedly said objectionable things like ‘keeping 80 crore people on the tip of a shoe’. After this statement, an atmosphere of tension was created in the area and people started demanding strict action against the accused Maulana.
FIR registered on complaint
The matter became more serious when villager Dalchand lodged a police complaint against Maulana. It was alleged in the complaint that Maulana was deliberately working to provoke people and spread disharmony in the society. Not only this, in the viral video some minor children were also seen listening to Maulana’s rhetoric, which further increased the resentment among parents and local people.
Case registered against 15 people
As soon as the complaint reached the police, the administration swung into action. Area Officer Puranpur Prateek Dahiya said that a case has been registered against 15 people including Maulana Rehan Raza Khan. The police took immediate action and arrested Maulana. The CO said that such inflammatory and objectionable statements spoil the atmosphere of the society, hence they will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Anger among people regarding Maulana
After the matter came to light, people in the area united and condemned Maulana’s statement. Villagers say that it is the responsibility of religious leaders to spread the message of brotherhood and peace in the society, but this statement of Maulana was completely opposite to this. People have demanded that the accused should be given the harshest punishment so that in future anyone would think a hundred times before making such statements.

Police officials say that the matter is being thoroughly investigated. The accused Maulana is being interrogated. At the same time, the administration has also indicated that if more people are found involved in the case, action will be taken against them also.
