- You should be a citizen of India.
- You should be between 18 and 40 years old.
- You should have a savings account in a bank or post office.
- You should not have income tax pair on or after 1 October 2022.

What is special in the new form?
Some necessary changes have been made in the new form, which are according to the guidelines of Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA). Only Indian residents can open APY account through the post office, as these accounts are connected to postal savings accounts.
Postal department advice
The postal department has instructed all post offices to promote new guidelines among the public and use only new form. Old or unauthorized form will no longer be used.
The postal department also said that information about new rules should be put on the notice board in all post offices, so that people can easily understand it.
