The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has extended the NEET UG Counselling 2025 Round 1 resignation deadline till September 3, 2025 up to 5 PM. Candidates can withdraw from their allotted seats without losing the security deposit.

“The Resignation facility for Round-1 of UG Counselling 2025 without Forfeiture of Security Deposit has been extended upto 05:00 P.M of 03.09.2025,” states the official notice.

This decision by the Counselling Committee aims to ensure a fair, transparent, and candidate-friendly counselling process, allowing candidates to make informed decisions about their preferred colleges and courses.

Candidates, including those who have already reported to their allotted colleges, can withdraw their seats until September 3, 2025, without forfeiting their security deposit. This measure is intended to streamline the counselling process and offer fair opportunities for students awaiting Round 2.

Documents Required For NEET UG Counselling:

— NEET UG 2025 admit card and scorecard

— Class 10 and 12 mark sheets and certificates

— Birth certificate (if not mentioned in Class 10 certificate)

— Category certificate (for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD candidates, if applicable)

— Domicile certificate (for State Quota seats)

— Passport-size photographs (same as uploaded in NEET application)

— Migration certificate (if applicable)

— Medical fitness certificate

MCC manages NEET UG counselling for admissions to MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery), BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery), and other related medical courses under the 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ). These seats are offered in government medical and dental colleges across India. The remaining 85 per cent of seats are allocated through state-level counselling, conducted by the respective state authorities based on candidates’ NEET UG scores.

The NEET UG 2025 Counselling Round-2 was slated to begin on August 29, however, that now stands postponed. The revised schedule is expected to be out soon.
