A stampede took place at Mansa Devi Temple in Haridwar on Sunday, officials said. Six people died in the incident while several others were injured.

In a tragic incident, six people died after a stampede broke out at the Mansa Devi temple in Uttarakhand’s Haridwar on Sunday, an official said.
The incident took place as a huge crowd gathered at the temple in the city.
Electrocution is likely to be the reason behind the incident, officials said. The injured people were rushed to the nearby hospital for immediate medical attention.

CM Dhami Reacts
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed grief at the incident and said that he is monitoring the situation. He said the relief and rescue teams were on the spot, carrying out operations.
“A very tragic incident of a stampede has been reported on the route to the Mansa Devi Temple in Haridwar. @uksdrf, local police, and other rescue teams have reached the spot and are engaged in relief and rescue operations. I am in constant touch with the local administration regarding this and the situation is being closely monitored. I pray to Mata Rani for the safety and well-being of all devotees,” Dhami tweeted.
