After this, on the basis of the search warrant of Special Judge (Vigilance), Bhubaneswar, Vigilance on Friday simultaneously raided a total of 9 locations in Bhubaneswar, Jajpur, Baripada and Kandhamal districts. During this period, around Rs 2.4 crore cash has been recovered from 5 multi-storey buildings, 13 plots, gold jewelery and bank lockers. The value of all the properties is being estimated in crores. It is believed to be one of the biggest disproportionate asset operations in recent years. Apart from four multi-storey luxurious houses in Bhubaneswar, searches were also conducted in four areas of Bhubaneswar, the ancestral house in Dharamshala in Jajpur district, residences of relatives, government quarters and offices. 2 Additional SP, 5 DSP, 6 Inspectors and a large number of other officers were deployed in the action. Five big buildings have been detected so far in the investigation. Among these, the largest is a four-storey building with an area of ​​about 10,500 square feet in Neeladri Vihar, Bhubaneswar. Apart from this, there is a three-storey building in Sailashree Vihar, a two-storey house in Patiya and a two-storey house in Chandrashekharpur. A two-storey building has also been built on ancestral land in Dharamshala of Jajpur district. Vigilance has also found 13 plots in the name of Behera and his family. Of these, 7 plots are located in Bhubaneswar, 5 in Dharamshala of Jajpur district and one in Baripada. Information about existence of more land in Bhubaneswar has come to light. 3 pictures of the raid… 2 crore cash recovered from wife’s bank lockers. During the raid, the officials recovered only 2.66 lakh cash from different locations. However, investigators found that there were two lockers in the name of Behera’s wife in Axis Bank and Union Bank of India in Chandrashekharpur, Bhubaneswar. When the locker was opened, around Rs 2 crore cash was found. The notes are being counted using bank machines. Apart from this, the weight and price of gold jewelery is also being assessed. Vigilance is also investigating bank accounts and other investments. Started job in 1999 at a salary of Rs 6,000. Baikunth Nath Behera started government service as a junior engineer on 16 August 1999. At that time his starting salary was Rs 6,000 per month. On 31 October 2016, he got promotion to the post of Assistant Engineer. In February 2026, he was made Assistant Executive Engineer and got posting in Baliguda ITDA. Presently his monthly salary was around Rs 80 thousand. Vigilance SP Sushant Kumar Biswal said that after the completion of the investigation, further legal action will be taken in the case of disproportionate assets.
