The suspended spokesperson of Trinamool Congress has created a political storm in West Bengal by openly praising newly appointed Chief Minister Subhendu Adhikari. He claimed that due to his intervention, large-scale violence against Mamata Banerjee’s party workers stopped. After BJP’s victory in West Bengal, Shubhendu Adhikari’s personal assistant was murdered. During this time, people in the state were enraged and the situation in the state had become critical.
Meanwhile, Riju Dutta, who has been suspended by the TMC for six years by the party’s disciplinary committee for violating rules and non-compliance with rules, said Adhikari exercised restraint at that sensitive time and helped prevent the situation from worsening after the brutal murder of his long-time close aide.
Riju Dutta while talking to news agency ANI said, “Shubhendu Adhikari Has saved the lives of at least 5,000 Trinamool Congress workers. His PA was shot on 6 May. If he had talked about revenge in Bengal that night, 5,000 TMC workers would have been killed. Instead he asked everyone to maintain peace and not take the law into their own hands.”
Praising Shubhendu Adhikari, Riju Dutta described his political journey as ‘incomparable’ and also said that he Mamata Banerjee After this, he is more suitable to become the Chief Minister of West Bengal.
He said, “If a list of top 10 leaders in the history of India is made, Mamata Banerjee’s name will be in it. But Subhendu Adhikari’s CV is different. He has been an MP, a cabinet minister and later defeated Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram. He is the only person who is worthy of sitting on the chair of the Chief Minister of West Bengal.”
Riju Dutta also launched a major attack on the TMC leadership, alleging organizational failures in the party and claiming that internal dynamics and alleged misuse of external consultants have weakened the party. He accused the leadership of allowing an outside agency to influence the functioning of the party and raised questions on recent legal developments involving senior leaders.
He said, “Didi and Abhishek Banerjee should take responsibility for how an outside organization (I-PAC) took over the entire share.”
Dutta’s words come at a time when TMC is facing internal turmoil and public criticism from many places after the election defeat, in which many leaders are raising questions on the leadership of the party.
